The Augmented Clinician Editorial Team
Every article on this site is researched, tested, written, and fact-checked by our editorial team, and our clinical content is reviewed by a practicing physician.
Who we are
The Augmented Clinician is an independent publication that reviews clinical AI tools. Our work is produced by an editorial team of writers and researchers who cover clinical decision support, ambient AI scribes, and generative AI in healthcare. We test the tools ourselves, score them against a published rubric, and write up what we find.
How we work
Tools are scored against our published methodology, and every article is held to our editorial policy: primary-source citations for clinical claims, fact-checking by a team member who did not write the piece, and dated corrections when we get something wrong. We use AI tools for drafting and editing assistance, but every published ranking and recommendation is reviewed and approved by a human editor before it goes live.
Medical review
Our clinical content is reviewed by Dr. L, a practicing general medicine physician in the UK with over 10 years of clinical experience. Dr. L reviews articles for clinical accuracy and writes under a pen name for privacy. Everything we state about this reviewer is true, and we deliberately keep the credentials general to protect their anonymity. More on our approach to authorship and review is on the about page.
Independence
We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, ranking position, or rating. Current commercial relationships, if any, are listed on our disclosures page. Where a team member has a relationship with a vendor, they are recused from scoring or writing about that tool.
